How to work with MS PAINT



How to Work with Microsoft Paint
MS Paint or Microsoft Paint is image editing tools which comes along with Microsoft Operating System. It is inbuilt basic application by Microsoft, helps user later to learn other advance graphic tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Corel Draw etc.
MS Paint allows you to create, copy, edit images whether it is new or scanned.  There are other elaborate features are enabled which help you to manipulate the image like resizing, stretching, skewing, flipping or rotating horizontally / vertically and also changing the resolution of the image.
To launch MS Paint:
       There are two ways to open the MS Paint-
1.      Go to Start button – AccessoriesPaint.  Another way to open is shortcut method
2.      Go to Start button – Run – type mspaint
In either way you open the MS Paint, it will take you to the Paint window, initially named as “Untitled- Paint” which will be displayed on Title Bar by default. 
Now in Paint window you can see four parts:
·         Manu Bar     
·         Tool Bar
·         Working Area and
·         Color Palette.
Menu Bar  is placed on the top shows the six tabs – File, Edit, View, Image, Colors and Help.  Each tab contains several command features to work with Paint.  To get the commands, simply click on the tab which will immediately display along with some keyboard shortcut.  For example: clicking File tab we can get -New (Ctrl+N), Open (Ctrl+O), Save (Ctrl+S) etc.
Similarly other tab also works.

Tool Bar      
is placed at left side.  Here sixteen icons are kept in sequence.  Each icon is one creative tool to work with any image or draw new.  To be familiar with each one or work with it, just keep the mouse cursor on the icon. Doing so, it will display the name of the icon and help you to work with.

  
   
            Ø  First two are Selection Tools icons.


Ø  Next two are the Eraser Tool and the Fill Tool icons.

Ø  The Eye Dropper Tool and the Magnifying Glass Tool icons are next.  

Ø  Next row has the Pencil Tool and the Paint Brush Tool icons.
Ø  The Airbrush Tool and the Text Tool icons are at next.

Ø  The next two are the Line Tool and the Curve Tool icons.

Ø  The seventh row has the Rectangle Drawing Tool and the Polygon Drawing Tool icons.

Ø  Last the Oval Drawing Tool and the Rounded Rectangle Drawing Tool icons.

Underneath of the above mentioned tools blank square portiondisplays according to the choice of tools for more options to work with like this.


Working Areais nothing but a place where you draw/edit/ manipulate the image.  It is just right pane of Tool Bar.  At the launch of MS Paint, by default it shows white color rectangular working are.  To reduce or enlarge the working area just get the mouse pointer to the corner of it, once pointer gets changed as arrow, holding the left click of the same just drag according to the required size.


Color Paletteis at the bottom of the window. With combination of twenty eight colors the palette will allow you to change and work with the image.  Same function is accessible by using Colors tab of Menu Bar also.

           At any point of time to work with MS Paint, HELP tab can be used. Here a bunch of topic has been explained and you can also find the topic easily by search of word or phrase. Enjoy drawing!!!


[Technical Tips: In case in your system “ms-paint” file somehow gets corrupted or gets missed out from the system and you don’t find the shortcut as well, then to get back the same: Copy mspaint.exe file from any other system from the path “C:\WINDOWS\system32” and paste to your system to the same pathC:\WINDOWS\system32”.]
